about new ground impact+
New Ground Impact+ is a conservation-focused organisation helping businesses take practical and evidence-backed action on their biodiversity footprint through a simple monthly subscription.
We exist for one reason: to enable businesses to go from biodiversity impact to biodiversity benefit.
We create and restore habitat for native wildlife, with a strong focus on koalas, and improve the ecological condition of the landscapes they depend on.
This isn’t carbon offsetting or offsets called up by project approval conditions. It’s about enabling businesses to operate in a biodiversity positive way, providing gains for biodiversity; native flora, fauna, and the places they call home.
Being an initiative of specialist ecological planning consultancy, New Ground Environmental Pty Ltd, our conservation work is scientifically-driven, being measurable and transparent with reporting to support the Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG), Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and marketing needs of subscribers.
Subscribers receive project updates showing the conservation actions they’re helping fund, plus access to a New Ground Impact+ Trust Mark, so you can proudly communicate that your business is biodiversity-positive.
Whether your operations are corporate, land development, commercial, hospitality or industrial, we make it easy to contribute to better outcomes for nature, one month at a time.
How can you make a difference?
A biodiversity impact is the footprint we leave on nature; native plants, wildlife, and the habitats they rely on. It’s not carbon offsetting: carbon is about climate emissions, while biodiversity is about ecosystems on the ground. Everyday business operations can put real pressure on local flora and fauna, and your support helps fund practical conservation action, like restoring habitat and creating homes for koalas.
Step 1: PIck your plan
Corporate Operations: A monthly plan to mitigate biodiversity impacts of corporate operations including factors of office space, electricity/water/materials, waste generation and travel.
Industrial/Commercial Development: A monthly plan to mitigate biodiversity impacts of industrial/commercial development and operations. Including factors site area developed, energy use, water use and waste generation.
Low-density Residential Development: A monthly plan to mitigate biodiversity impacts of low-density development and operations. Including factors site area developed, energy use, water use and waste generation.
Multi-level Residential Development: A monthly plan to mitigate biodiversity impacts of multi-level residential development and operations. Including factors site area developed, energy use, water use and waste generation.
Retail: A monthly description to mitigate retailer activities on biodiversity from store operations to transport.
Accomodation Providers: Purpose-built options to mitigate biodiversity impacts on accomodation types; differentiating ‘eco’ resorts, standard resorts and luxury resorts via a monthly subscription.
Travel: Mitigate the biodiversity impacts of your travel arrangements, from domestic to international flights and commuting by road with a simple monthly subscription.
Step 2: calculate
Use our Impact Calculator to get an estimate of your biodiversity footprint, based on everyday things like commuting, travel, building activity, and office use. It’s designed to help you understand the types of impacts that add up over time and making it easier to choose a subscription level that makes your business biodiversity positive. In a couple of minutes, you’ll have a clearer picture of your organisation’s impact and a simple next step to start funding real conservation work.
Step 3: Make it real
Your subscription is put to work on real, on-ground conservation, funding projects that restore habitat, improve ecological condition, and help create homes for koalas and other native wildlife. You’ll receive quarterly updates on the projects you’re supporting, including progress milestones and photos, so you can see the impact you’re helping make. You’ll also get access to the New Ground Impact+ Trust Mark to use on your website, proposals, and marketing to show you’re biodiversity-conscious. And if you ever need to go further, you can scale up with tailored packages designed around specific project or operational impacts.
What impacts can we mitigate?
From grass roots enterprise to multinational operations, New Ground Impact+ helps you take meaningful action on the biodiversity impacts of your operations. Our impact menu covers biodiversity impacts common to broad categories of business operations, like land conversion, energy and water use, waste generation and transport so you can choose a plan that matches your world and start funding real on-ground conservation.

Project Spotlight: Koala Sanctuary Project (Toowoomba District, south east queensland)
Location: Ravensbourne, South East Queensland
Focus: Koala habitat, Brush-tailed rock wallaby habitat, Greater glider habitat + Landscape restoration
Status: Active
The Koala Sanctuary project is restoring a large tract of former forestry and grazing land bordering the Crows Nest National Park and an existing environmental offset area concerned with koala and grey-headed flying fox habitat restoration. This project is concerned with rebuilding a safer, more connected landscape for threatened wildlife including koalas, greater gliders, brush-tailed rock wallabies. Waterway restoration is also underway to improve catchment health and ecological connectivity. Your subscription supports on-ground works like site preparation, weed control, tubestock planting, habitat enrichment, and follow-up maintenance to help new plantings survive and thrive.
What’s happening on the ground
Re-vegetation with locally native plant species, namely koala feed and shelter species (in batches of 500 trees)
- Rehabilitation of waterways
- Improved movement between bushland areas for fauna
- Protection of the land from threats such as forestry, clearing and fragmentation
- Assisted natural regeneration including broad-scale weed control and feral pest management.
- Ongoing maintenance
- What subscribers receive
Progress updates with photos, milestones, and a running tally of habitat actions funded through subscriptions.
Upcoming Project: Creekline Habitat Boost (moreton bay district, North of Brisbane)
Location: Wamuran (creek corridor)
Focus: Riparian zone, koala habitat, endangered vegetation community and fauna movement corridor restoration.
Status: Upcoming (starting soon)
Creekline Habitat Boost is our next on-ground project aimed at improving the health of a local creek corridor by strengthening native vegetation, reducing invasive weeds, and creating better shelter and food sources for wildlife. This kind of work supports biodiversity at a landscape level; cooler creek edges, stronger ecological condition, and more resilient habitat for native species (including koala movement).
Planned actions
Targeted weed removal and site preparation
Planting of locally appropriate native species (including koala feed trees) along the creekline (batches of 500 trees)
Habitat enrichment (ground cover, shelter pockets, and regeneration support)
How subscribers will be involved
Subscribers will receive a project kickoff update, then regular progress snapshots: photos; key milestones; and “what your subscription helped fund” highlights.
